A letter from the Director

Happy New Year Everyone,

I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who came on a trip with us in 2012, we loved sharing our, your experiences and building your memories.
2012 was a fantastic year, it saw lots of changes, developments and growth.  We focused and changed to come more in line with our mission and vision statements.
Firstly I would like to thank our guide team for all their hard work and dedication. I would like really thank the office staff (Shorty and Lynn) for there long hours and hard work. But most importantly I would like to thank Alex Aitken our operations manger for his dedication, hard work and his pure love, enthusiasm and passion for his job. For those of you who have met Alex you would agree that he puts everything into his job.  He is one of a kind. So thank you.
In 2012 we did two guide training courses and have several new guides some of which have been signed off and some of which have a couple more training runs to do, watch out they will soon be ripping it up on the river.
2012 saw us push and run expeditions on the Athi River which had fallen by the wayside. We ran 4 trips in 2012 and all guides are super excited to get onto more trips in 2013. Come join us for this amazing experience.
2012 was a successful year on Mt Kenya. We put 543 people on the point Lenana. We also ran our first down hill Mt Bike trip off Lenana to the main rd. hard work but a lot of fun.
2012 saw us start running 2 and 3 star kayaking courses for the British Army. 2013 should see a lot more courses run both for the army and individuals.
We bough 20 new Trek Mt bikes and ran several Mt bike safaris, we increased our fleet of rafts, we bought a new bus and renewed a lot of our equipment.
We revamped and updated our developmental training courses and ran several very successful team-building courses for several large corporate companies in Kenya, and have a lot more booked for 2013.
We have added an educational twist to all our outdoor education school trips making them more educational and more fun.
Our camp is looking fantastic and always changing for the better 2013 will see a little face lift.

2013 looks like it will be a fantastic year as well. Our fingers are crossed with the up coming elections. Bookings are looking slim in March and April so look out for special offers.

We have several very exciting new expeditions and trips planned for 2013 to name a few we have a first decent of the Yala River that flows thorough Kakamega Forest. We will join the dots on the Athi and do a first decent from the Machakos bridge to the Yata gap bridge approx. 130km of un run water. We also have a Grand Canyon trip planned for the end of the year. Plus loads more.

We are all very excited and hope that you will be able to join us on one of our trips. We look forward to seeing you out there in 2013.

Thanks

James Savage
