September saw Savage Wilderness host the first teachers social weekend at our camp on the Tana River near Sagana. It gave new and old teachers from various schools across Kenya and even Tanzania a chance to get to know each other and see the fantastic facilities on offer at Savage Camp. The weekend was met with great enthusiasm by the 120 teachers we hosted and due to the positive feedback we received it will become an annual event at the start of each new school year.
Schools season has started and we've already had a few school groups enjoying the activities at our camp which include: white water rafting, kayaking, rock climbing and archery amongst others. We have also had one school group summit Mount Kenya and look forward to welcoming more groups onto Mount Kenya early in the new year.
We're eagerly anticipating the rains (which are late this year) to give us some high water levels but we still have great medium water levels on the Tana River which makes for fantastic white water rafting.
